Searching in List Screens

All list screens in DentiMax have two fields to help you search through the list. These are the Search and Search by fields.

info

Be sure to set the Search by field before using the Search field. Search by tells the program which data table to use for the search, while Search tells the program which record to find. If you are looking for a patient name and the program is looking at the Social Security table, the result will be less than optimal. A lot less.

Each list screen has its own set of data tables in which to search. In the Search by field, click the field or the down arrow to pop up the list of options. Some lists can be sorted by several fields, such as the Patient list (Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial). In the Appointment list you can choose to sort by Date, Time, Chart Number or by Chart Number, Date, Time. When you choose the method by which to sort, the list resorts itself immediately.

Once the Search by field is correct, start typing appropriate letters or numbers in the Search field. DentiMax immediately moves to the first record that matches that input.

Using Lookup Tables

lookupicon This icon (called the Lookup icon) signals that the field is connected to a search table.

Suppose you are in the Batch Payment Entry screen and are looking for an insurance company. If you click the Lookup icon next to the Insurance Code field, you open the Insurance Plan screen, where you can use filters or Search and Search by fields described above. Double-click the record you need and the Insurance Plan table is closed and the information entered in the field of the screen in which you are working.
