The Report List contains all report forms created in the program. These report forms help you manage your practice. You can edit these forms and add new ones of your own, which are added to the list.
To access the reports, click Reports in the toolbar.

Choosing a Category
The Options bar lets you choose a category of reports to display. The default is Favorites, which have been determined by the creators of the software. If this list is not completely accurate for your use, remove reports from the Favorites list by highlighting the report and clicking Remove from Favorites in the Options bar or right-click the report and choose Remove from Favorites in the speed menu that pops up.
To add a report to the Favorites list, open any other category than Favorites (probably click All), locate the report and right-click it and then choose Add to Favorites. In all categories other than Favorites, an Add to Favorites option is added to the Options bar also.
Report List
When you choose a category, all reports included in that category are listed in the main upper portion of the screen.
As you highlight a report, a print preview of a sample report (if available) appears at the bottom of the screen. You can change or add preview reports in the Report Properties screen. If the sample report is longer than one page, click the navigational buttons at the top of the displayed report to move from page to page.
Printing Reports
In the Print Reports section of the Options bar, you can print a report, preview it, or send it to file.
Print
Select the report you want and click Print Report. You can also right-click the report and choose Print Report from the speed menu, or double-click a report to print it.

In the Search window, use filters to limit the scope of information to be included in the report. You can also click either or both of the Show all values... boxes to include all available information. Click OK to proceed.

If you want to use all data and all dates, just click OK. The program assumes you want to include all data and clicks the Show all values... boxes itself.

In the Print screen, choose your printer and click OK. The program accesses the data and send the report to the printer.
Preview
To preview the report before printing, highlight the report, then click Preview Report, or right-click the report and choose Preview Report from the speed menu.
The same Search screen as above pops up. Fill that in as needed and click OK.
In the Preview Report screen, look over the report. You can print from here by clicking the printer icon under the screen title bar. The Print screen appears where you choose your printer. Click OK and the report is sent to the printer.
Save to File
To save a report to file, highlight the report and click Save to File in the Print Reports section of the Options bar. This option is not available in the right-click or speed menu.
The same Search screen as above pops up. When the Print screen opens, notice that the Print to File box is checked. Verify the information in that section and click OK. The program accesses the data and prints the document.
Modifying Reports
Reports can be modified, created, deleted, exported, imported, or sent to DentiMax by utilizing the Modify Reports section of the Options bar.
Delete
To delete a report from the database (presumably only one that you yourself have created and you don't want anymore), right-click it and choose Delete Report from the speed menu, or highlight it and click Delete Report in the Options bar. You are asked to verify that you want the report deleted. If you click Yes, the report is removed from the database and you can't recover it unless you copy it from another database and import it to this database. See Export/Import below.
Edit/New
The functions of editing and creating new reports is performed in a product called ReportBuilder Pro. See the documentation provided on the installation CD for instructions on using ReportBuilder Pro.
Export/Import
You can export or import report formats from and to DentiMax. Highlight the report and click either Import Report or Export Report in the Options bar.
Exporting - In the Export DentiMax Report screen, enter the file name. Click Save. The report form is saved in the Reports folder of your dentimaxdata directory. Copy the report to disk or transfer electronically. This is also where you can save sample reports to be displayed in the Reports list screen. See Report Properties below.
Importing - To import a report, the report must be stored in the Reports folder of your dentimaxdata directory. Click Import Report. In the Import DentiMax Report screen, click the report you want added to your practice database and then click Open.
Send to DentiMax
If a format has become corrupted or you need help getting it to work right, technicians at DentiMax may be able to help you. If requested by DentiMax, highlight the report and click Send to DentiMax. When the report is complete, the following screen pops up.

Close the screen by clicking the red X.

There may be a fee associated with DentiMax technicians reviewing and/or correcting problems with report formats.

Organizing Reports
This section in the Options bar contains two options: View Report Properties and either Add to Favorites or Remove from Favorites, depending on which category is displayed. We've already talked about adding and removing reports from the Favorites list, so nothing else will be said about it here.
You can view report properties by clicking the option here in the Options bar, or right-click the report and choose View Report Properties in the speed menu.

You can change the name of the report, alter the type, revise the category, and edit or include a description.
You also have another opportunity to include or remove the report from the Favorites list.
To protect information, you can restrict security levels for report formats. This is in addition to those rights provided in the Security feature. There you can assign the level of security for designing reports, setting or editing report properties, and deleting report formats. Here you establish the security levels for printing and previewing reports. These settings are found in the Print/Preview User Level section. Click a level box to add or remove the check mark.
There is also an option in the Options bar to Load a Preview File. This is how to add the preview document that shows when a report is highlighted in the Report list. Before you can add a preview document, you must be sure one is saved in the Reports folder of Dentimaxdata. See Export/Import above and Click this option and the program opens an Open screen showing saved reports.
Customizing
The columns displayed in the Report List screen are customizable. See Customizing a Screen.
